Silly Whatnots

You're a falling star,
You're the get-away car,
You're the line in the sand
When I go too far
You're the swimming pool,
On an August day.
And you're the perfect thing to see.
-Everything, Michael Buble

And you want three wishes:
One to fly the heavens
One to swim like fishes
And then one you're saving for a rainy day
If your lover ever takes her love away
-Three Wishes, The Pierces

It’s often said that no matter the truth,
people see what they want to see.
-Gossip Girl

We stumble into our lives:
Reach for a hand to hold.
And any wonder, we need to find
A certain something, certain.
-Something to believe in, Aqualung

I want to change the world...instead I sleep.
I want to believe in more than you and me.
But all that I know is I'm breathing.
All i can do is keep breathing.
-Keep Breathing, Ingrid Michaelson

The life that you've been living, the days that you've been given
Were made for something beautiful
Life - don't let it pass you by
Because you were created for something beautiful
-Something Beautiful, Natalie Grant

Chi-Chi

Spot the fake.

Mum and I explored the streets of Chi-chi today. Actually, Chi-chi is not its real name. I started calling it Chi-chi because my friends also call that place 'Chi-chi'. It's a little Chinatown in Davao where people would buy the cheapest things. It's much cheaper compared to malls.

I explored the gargantuan store full of DVD's. Pirated one, of course. All kinds of people were buying them. Rich, poor, young, old... Even Policemen. But wait, selling pirated DVD's is against the law, isn't it? And policemen are protectors of the law, Aren't they? My, what a twisted world we've got.

So, I went from pirated DVDs to wallets and bags. They have a large collection of bags and wallets. Lacoste, Gucci, Guess, Chloe, Coach, you name it. I bet China or even, Manila has a lot more to offer.

In America, it is mandated by the law that people would pay a fine or be behind bars when caught wearing, selling, or owning imitations.

I can't blame people who buy imitations though. The main reason why people buy fake ones is the very unreasonable price of designer goods. Like, a Gucci sunglasses can cost a hundred dollars while the 'Gucci-Gucci-han' would juct cost, what, fifty pesos perhaps?

It's a good investment buying real ones though. It guarantees to last a lifetime. Plus, it can save people from Social suicide. So, give me fake pradas or give me death. ;P
